Seattle Children’s Festival

On Sunday, October 12, the Seattle Children’s Festival will take place on the Seattle Center Grounds.  From 11 am to 6 pm, families are encouraged to come join the free multi-cultural festivities.  This year’s theme will be “Celebrating Our Big Neighborhood.”

The festival will unite local communities to celebrate all families of the Northwest.  There will be international dances, such as Indian Kathak Dance, Philippine Folk Dance, West African Dance, Hip Hop breakdancing, Brazilian Capoeira Angola, and much more.  There will also be a variety of music styles and stories performed live.  Friendly workshops will also invite kids and families to learn about other cultures.

This year, a new Event Passport will help children take an interactive journey through the festival.  There will also be cooking demonstrations, jump roping, interactive historical exhibits, and more hands on activities.

The Seattle Children’s Festival is part of Northwest Folklife and has free admission thanks to donations from Northwest residents.  Find out more about the event at www.seattlecenter.com or www.nwfolklife.org/seattlechildrensfestival/
